What is your name and day job?
I’m Cristy Houghton, and I’m the creative director and founder of Embarketing, the marketing agency which worked with Holly to create Wagga Mardi Gras. I also work for Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network.
Why are you passionate about this event and LGBTIQ in Wagga and the Riverina?
I have so many friends who are part of the LGBTQI community, including my trans nephew, Jules. After living in Melbourne for a good chunk of my life and moving back to a regional area, I see so much opportunity for this city to step up and be a sanctuary and safe place for LGBTQI people of all ages and backgrounds to not only be themselves, but to celebrate it with a party down the main drag.
What would your drag name be?
